I’d like to recognize Talent Cloud, a gig marketplace for Canada’s Public Service; redesigning credential recognition for the digital age – a potential global first for the Public Sector.
The GC Talent Cloud aims to create a thriving marketplace where today’s talent can find exciting, high-quality job opportunities that fit their passions and talents. All jobs in the marketplace allow gig workers to claim rights and benefits associated with more permanent types of work. This grassroots project includes a dynamic recognition ecosystem that allows individuals to earn and validate skills, knowledge, and abilities by applying to jobs and while they’re on the job. There is also a Blockchain pilot for credentials.
The idea is to open up the way Government sees and values experience so that a wider range of Canada’s talent can apply to Government work. Credentials earned through Talent Cloud are recognized and transferable between job applications… and one day potentially across Canada.
