I wish to recognise these intrepid scientists and their important research in Greenland. Dr. Jason Box, Dr Karen Cameron, Gabriel Warren, Dr Joseph Cook, Alia Khan, Ross Edwards, Dr Marek Stibal, Prof. Martyn Tranter, Nathan Chrismas.
Their mission:
We believe gathering measurements from the surface of Greenland ice is fundamental to advancing our understanding of the melting Arctic.
We inform the global public what’s happening in this remote but important place.
The Dark Snow Project gathers ‘hard numbers’ from the Arctic to quantify the distant snow/ice melting impact of industrial and wildfire black carbon soot; mineral dust; and microbes, each melt factor having some human driven enhancement.
We lead thinking by getting ahead of the slow and rigid conventional funding system through crowd funding and foundation support.
