John Dunne, teacher and educator in the wider sense in the Irish capital of Dublin, has, through commendable private enterprise over the course of many years, amassed a body of information on the curriculum of Irish educational institutions since the 1920s that lacks comparison.
Both due to the loss of records, and the semi-private nature of many archives where such documents are to be found, this collection had to be packed in minute packages and parcels from a hundred different, sometimes begrudging, sometimes helpful sources, and represents one of the largest repositories of such knowledge in existence in modern Ireland. The dedication and perseverance necessary to achieve this is commendable enough in itself, the hitherto purely non-financial motives behind it makes it even more so.
